What this is
The 940 CRM is the internal customer and project tool of 940Digital, a web design business run by Owen Leiter in Denton, Texas. It is not a public service. Only the business owner signs in to it. This page explains what the tool does with the Gmail account it is connected to.
Google user data
The CRM connects to the business Gmail account (940digital@gmail.com) through Google's Gmail API. It asks for one permission, the ability to read and label messages in that mailbox (the gmail.modify scope). It does not send mail on the business's behalf.
What it does. It checks the mailbox for new messages and sorts them. For messages from senders the owner has approved, it stores the sender, subject, a short preview and the plain text of the message, so the business can reply and keep a record of the conversation. It labels conversations it has handled. Messages from marketplaces, newsletters, automatic replies and unknown senders are recorded by sender and subject only and are not passed on.
Who sees it. The stored messages are visible to Owen Leiter. They are also read by the AI assistants the business uses to draft replies and prepare website work, which run on Anthropic's Claude. The data is stored with the database provider Supabase, and the tool is hosted on Vercel. Gmail data is not shared with anyone else, is not sold, and is not used for advertising.
Limited Use. 940Digital's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Gmail data is used only to provide the email handling described here. It is not used to develop, improve or train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models. People read it only to handle the conversation, to investigate abuse or a fault, or where the law requires.
Security. The access token that lets the tool reach Gmail is encrypted before it is stored, the database is not open to the public, and access is limited to the business owner and the tool itself.
How long it is kept
Customer emails and project records are kept for as long as the business is working with the customer and for a reasonable period afterward in case of questions about the work. Ask for your information to be deleted and it will be, unless the law requires it to be kept.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete what is held about you by writing to 940digital@gmail.com. The business can revoke the tool's access to Gmail at any time from the Google Account permissions page.
